Each firm must designate in writing a Designated REALTOR® who will be responsible for all of the duties and obligations of licensees associated with the Designated REALTOR®, including the obligation to arbitrate disputes pursuant to Article 17 of the Code of Ethics and to pay Association dues as established in the Bylaws. The Designated REALTOR® must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer or branch office manager of the firm capable of acting on behalf of the firm's principal(s) and must meet the other qualifications for REALTOR® membership established in the Bylaws. The Designated REALTOR® must be actively engaged in the real estate profession, and maintain a current, valid real estate broker's license or be licensed or certified by an appropriate State regulatory agency to engage in the appraisal of real property. The completion of the following satisfies the Orientation requirements: Attend a one day New Member Orientation session, which is offered monthly at one of the Royal Palm Coast Realtor® Association's 3 locations. This class includes the 3 hours of Code of Ethics education which satisfies the NAR quadrennial Code of Ethics requirements (It does not count towards continuing education CE);
Attend a mandatory two hour MLS Orientation which is also offered monthly at our Education Center.
Note: If you are currently an active member of another REALTOR® Association or have held membership in the past 12 months with the Royal Palm Coast Realtor® Association and/or the Florida Gulf Coast MLS, and you have already attended a New Member Orientation course, then you may not need to attend the New Member Code of Ethics/Orientation course again.
Doors will open promptly at 8:30am. Please be aware that sign in will take place between 8:30am till 8:45am. Class will begin promptly at 9:00am and will end at 4:00pm.
If you arrive after 9:15am it will be necessary for you to attend the next Orientation class in order to complete the NAR requirements to become a member. The National Association of REALTORS® has mandated 3 hours of Code of Ethics training. Please allow yourself enough time to arrive by 8:45am so that you do not miss this required section.
Orientation is mandatory. Dress code is business attire so please bring a sweater or jacket with you as our Education Center is kept at cool temperature. Also, there is a strict policy enforced that no electronics are to be used during Orientation.
Once you have attended the orientation and have been inducted, you are entitled to use the designation REALTOR® which identifies you as a Real Estate Professional. If for some reason you cannot attend orientation within two scheduled orientations your current application will become null and void and all services will be terminated. Should this occur your only option will be to reapply for membership. All monies previously paid will be forfeited. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions to this policy. If you must cancel we must receive notification at our office by 5:00pm the Friday prior to the scheduled orientation date.
Due to the amount of no-shows, the Board of Directors has instituted a new policy. The new policy states: If you do not cancel and you do not show up for orientation there will be a $100 cancellation fee.
